If you have a website that provides free information or a free service, you may be sitting on a potential goldmine. It is possible to generate ad revenue with any website, even if it is just a blog or a message board. For our purposes here, we will review each of the different income streams available to you as a webmaster so that you can formulate a plan to turn your free service into a money making business.

The simplest way to get some ads running on your website is by displaying banners or text links for affiliate programs, strategically placed on your webpage where people will see the advertisements and subsequently click on them. An affiliate program is a program whereby you, the affiliate, display a banner or text link advertising the products or services of another business. If someone clicks on that ad and then purchases something from that other company, you will be paid a commission on that sale.

There are thousands of affiliate programs available to you. Another way you can make money with your site is by displaying pay-per-click (PPC) advertisements on your webpage. You need to sign up with companies that deliver PPC ads. Nextag has a pay-per-click program, as do several ad delivery services such as Adrevolver. Google Adsense is probably the most popular pay-per-click advertisement delivery service on the internet, and you should sign up with them as well.

It is also possible to make some significant ad revenue from your site by actually charging companies a fee to advertise on your website. This is easier said than done; your website has to establish itself as receiving a lot of high quality traffic. If you have a website that gets thousands of hits per day, you need to have statistics that prove it so that you can justify someone paying a fee to advertise on your website. The more popular your site is, the more you can charge. Only if your website receives a ton of traffic will you be able to charge other websites a fee to display their banner on your site.

The best way to make money online is with a dealer program, which is a little different from an affiliate program. With a dealer program, you actually add a webpage to your own site that is tailored to fit the look and feel of your own website, rather than simply displaying an affiliate banner. With a dealer program, the products or services of the other company are actually sold directly through your own website, so that you are in total control of the sale. Meanwhile, the parent company does all the order processing and shipping, etc. You can just sit back and collect your money.

I hope this information has been helpful. Sometimes, it is easier to make money with a website that provides nothing but free information than it is with an actual business. However, you will need to run ads for products or services that somehow relate to the subject matter of your site. If your site provides information about obtaining a mortgage, then your site should have affiliate banners or links to mortgage quoting services. There needs to be a relationship between between what kind of information your site provides and what you are advertising. Doing this will enable you to turn your free website into a real business.

The Parthenon Principle, simply explained, is this: Have
multiple pillars generate revenue rather than one or two.
Your business could collapse if it's only supported by one
or two income streams. Too many business owners gamble
everything on a single revenue source. They often get
attached to one type of marketing - and overlook the fact
that there are at least a dozen income streams they could
access!

What may not seem obvious is this: the more "pillars" you
have, the larger and heavier the roof that you can support.
The more income-generating methods you have, the larger
revenue roof you will have. Here I'll continue to open your
eyes to what the possibilities are, and what opportunities
you might be missing

In the previous article, I introduced you to 13 different
pillars your online business could use to generate
additional revenue streams. In this article I am oing to
introduce you to twelve (12) additional pillars your online
business can use to generate revenue.

As you go through these "pillars" think of the ways that you
can apply them for your business. DO NOT, at first glance,
discard them and say they don't apply to you. Think instead
of the possibilities in how they COULD apply to you.

USP
Most websites try to be many things to all people. That's a
mistake. Instead develop a USP (unique selling proposition)
that clearly defines who you are, what you uniquely do, and
why your website is the site of choice to visit. Your
website should convey this USP throughout, stressing the
benefit of doing business with you. Don't be wishy-washy in
your approach; be straightforward and sell. Hard. Clearly
convince site visitors of the benefits you can give them and
do so by staying within a product or service niche. Less

Reciprocal links
Surf the web and find complementary sites to yours; send the
webmaster an email saying (a) you visited the website, (b)
complementing them on one or two specific things about the
site you liked, (c) and request a reciprocal link to your
website. Keep a page on your site where you put links to
other sites, however make sure that your visitors don't hit
that page too soon in their visit to your website, leaving
your website too soon!

Newsgroups
Dejanews [www.dejanews.com] is the primary website onramp to
over 45,000 discussion groups. Now, don't get the idea that
once you find a discussion group, you can begin aggressively
marketing your services. That's considered SPAM and will
make you look really bad. Instead, participate in discussion
groups relevant to your industry and customer demographics,
adding to the discussion in helpful ways, and let the
"signature" at the end of your messages do your marketing
for you. People will gradually get to know and trust you,
visit your site, and do business with you

IRC
IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. IRC is a form of chat on
the Internet where you can enter channels (rooms) and have
real-time discussions based on the topic that the channel
generally discusses. You can also create your own channels
and hold text-based conferences with Internet users all over
the world. Use the same policy about IRC as you use for
Newsgroups; be helpful but not overly obsessed with pitching
your products. Over time, other channel members will come to
recognize your expertise and inquire privately about your

Awards
Once your site is completed, you've gotten rid of the Under
Construction signs, and the website runs fast, then its time
to consider applying for awards. Most award sites
automatically subscribe entrants into an ezine. Winners are
not only announced at the website, and you are informed by
email, but are also announced in its ezine with a link to
your site. Larger award sites send press releases to a wider
audience. Consider these award programs: Award-It

Join parallel affiliate programs
As you surf the web discovering whom your allies and
competitors may be, be sure to ally your website with like-
minded websites and join their affiliate program. Why?
Because you can select products that you can offer your
target audience, earn money on the sale of those products,
and gain added value by aligning yourself with expert
products which your website visitors will appreciate. Also

Give something away for free
When you can offer something to visitors on your site for
free all of a sudden interest perks up; the word FREE is
irresistible. Make sure that your offering is related to
your services so that the visitors you attract will be good
prospects for your business. Example: 3Com offers system

CD/calculator to compute the cost of designing a network.
What does 3Com sell? You guessed it: network cards and
network devices.

Join a webring
A Web ring is a group of linked sites with similar subject
matter. A visitor to one site in the ring can quickly access
the rest of the sites in the ring. The largest collection of
web rings today is the www.webring.com, managed by Yahoo!,
which not only allows you to join web rings, but also create
them. Visit their website and see if there is a match in
your topic. If so, join, and link your site to the ring,
thereby driving further targeted traffic to your site.

Share your content
If you sell knowledge-based services, consider writing tips,
lessons, hints, secrets, or anything that would help a
particular group of people. Then submit the content
regularly by emailing your fresh work to webmasters and
ezine editors who publish related material. Make sure (a)
you insist your byline be published, and (b) you be notified
by email when it was published. At the same time, solicit
content from webmasters and authors within your industry and
publish these on your website. Doing this will build a
resource library your visitors will appreciate and that in
turn, will build brand awareness and profit.

Log files
Log files from your web host will give you: visitor session
statistics, resources accessed, paths through site, top exit
pages, most requested pages, visitor demographics by new vs.
returning, referring URLs, search engines referrals, and
more. The key to generating revenue is to use the logs and
proactively manage your traffic to produce higher quality
results. Remember this keyword: MWR (most-wanted-response).
How can you better direct traffic through your site, based
on where visitors are now going to, to better get them to
the response you desire? Figure that out, build it, and
watch your responses soar.

Good design
I almost wish this was obvious but unfortunately it's not.
Bad design prevails in a very large way still, and
surprisingly, on sites that are intended to serve the public
and generate revenue. By good design I mean, make your site
(a) easy to navigate, (b) easy to search within, and (c)
logical in the next steps a visitor should take. Put your
company name, address, phone number, and general email
address on every page so that customers don't have to hunt
for your contact info, no matter what page they came into
your website by. Customers will appreciate the ease of use
and friendliness of your website.

Customer service
Golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you. Treat your customers right and give them a reason to
come back and frequent you with their purchases. Promptly
answer emails and voicemail messages. Companies that treat
customers with respect, and not just as a commodity, will
stand out in this day and age of poor service. Either most
companies today are providing no service, or just enough
service to get by. Don't do it. Invest in service and
treating your customers right and you will stand out and be
rewarded.

The $200 Canon Pixma MP600 is the mini-me to the gargantuan $300 Pixma MP810. Its smaller form factor and price have no bearing on the print quality or print speed, though we found this printer to be reasonably fast (lightning fast, even, with photo printing), and the print quality impressed us. The only major feature you lose out on is the negative and slide scanner. It doesn't come with a fax either, but a fax generally is found on more office-oriented printers, such as the $200 Canon Pixma MP530. Given the price vs. performance calculation, we actually prefer the Pixma MP600 to the Pixma MP810, and we definitely like it better than its competition from HP and Epson. If high-quality scans are a high priority for you, though, skip the Canon Pixma MP600 and check out the office-oriented Pixma MP530

Design
The Pixma MP600 looks as though someone hit the MP810 with a shrinking ray: same body, same layout--only smaller. It stands 17.5 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 7.5 inches high. It has the same two paper inputs (cassette in front and auto sheet feeder in back) and a flip-out panel for output. Two memory card slots reside behind a door and the PictBridge port sits under that door.

The control panel is embedded in the scanner lid, and the MP600 also uses the new scroll wheel design found on the MP810. The menu options are shown on the 2.5-inch color LCD that's nestled into the underside of the control panel cover. We like the tactile click response from the scroll wheel, and although we'd always prefer a larger LCD for previewing photos, the one found on the MP600 is bright, colorful, and easy to read.

The Pixma MP600's flatbed scanner can hold up to A4 size originals; if you need to scan legal size sheets, you're out of luck. This model lacks the negative and slide scanner found on the more expensive Pixma MP810, and it offers only a USB connection. If you want to network it, you can avail yourself of a variety of third-party routers or print servers that will do the job for you.

The MP600 uses the same five-ink system the MP810 employs: dye-based cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks, plus a pigment-based black for better text prints. Canon estimates 4x6 photo prints cost a competitive 29 cents each and color documents cost a mere 3 cents per page--both numbers are at the low end in the industry.

Features
The Canon MP600 offers the same feature set available on most Canon multifunctions (see the Feature section of the Canon Pixma MP810 review for additional details). When scanning, you can attach it to an e-mail, save it as a PDF, save it to your PC, or open it in an application, such as Adobe Photoshop. Likewise, the special copy option offers the usual suspects: two-sided copy using the built-in duplexer, borderless copy, 2-on-1 and 4-on-1 copy, and image repeat.

With photo printing, we found the features we expected to see. You can reprint photos by scanning them and outputting them as normal photo prints or in a sticker print. If you're printing straight from a memory card, you can print all, print only selected photos, or print a photo index of all the contents of a card, by date range, or just the last 36, 72, 108, or 144 pictures taken. We find this last option to be really useful for people who tend to just add to their memory cards without offloading older images first.

If you'd like to print wirelessly, you have two options. The first is to use the built-in IrDA port with your IrDA camera phone. The second is to purchase an optional Bluetooth adapter to plug into the PictBridge port. Using the Bluetooth adapter, you can print from a variety of PDAs and cell phones. You can also print from a PictBridge camera using the PictBridge port. We like the wide array of options, but would also like to see the ability to use the PictBridge port as a USB port (or even a secondary USB port) to connect a USB storage device, such as a flash thumbdrive.

Performance
The Canon Pixma MP600 may be smaller in stature than the MP800, but it keeps up in performance. It printed text at 7.88ppm, just behind the MP800's 8.43 pages per minute (ppm). What really impressed us, though, was its lightning-fast photo print speeds--an impressive 2.33ppm for 4x6 prints, the fastest photo printer we've seen in the Labs by far (even faster than more expensive Pixma models). The next fastest was the 1.88ppm posted by the Pixma MP810. It was a bit slower at scanning, but not shamefully so: 4.36ppm for grayscale scans and 4.44ppm for color scans.

he print quality of the MP600 was impressive. Text quality was excellent, especially for an inkjet printer. We saw only very minor jaggedness on the edges of some characters. The color graphics print showed similar high quality: excellent saturation in color blocks, sharp detail, and impressive color reproduction, both in graphics and photo elements. We also liked the 4x6 photo prints, but we would've liked to see richer, warmer colors. Still, the photos are good enough for snapshooters and amateur photo hobbyists.

The grayscale scan didn't fare as well. Both ends of the grayscale were overblown, resulting in loss of details in both highlights and shadows. The color scan exhibited a similar problem, with light areas overblown. Also, details were fuzzy and the scan had an overall unfocused look to it. The scanner also had problems dealing with the vertical lines of a barcode-style pattern. If you're looking for excellent scans, this is not the printer for you. The Canon Pixma MP530 offers excellent scan quality, but as it's an office-oriented all-in-one, it lacks built-in memory card slots and a preview LCD. In order to get all of these features--memory card slots, LCD, and high-quality scans--you'll probably have to pony up a bit more cash for a model such as the Canon Pixma MP800.

Service and support
Canon provides a one-year limited warranty for its consumer printers, as well as a year of free, toll-free phone support Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST. You can extend the warranty to three years for $95. You also can get tech support via e-mail, and Canon says it will respond within 24 hours. The $80 Canon Pixma MP210 is the lowest-priced model in Canon's all-in-one inkjet printer line. It lacks features that would make it either office-oriented or photo-oriented, so it's best for general use and light workloads. It's missing a lot of the features that comparably priced all-in-ones offer, such as memory card slots, advanced copy and scan options, and even e-fax capability. It's also not the fastest of the pack, but it shines at task quality. If you're looking for a feature-packed budget all-in-one, you're better off with something like the Lexmark X3550, but if you're after the best print and scan quality to be had for $80, the Pixma MP210 is your best bet.

Design
Design-wise, the Pixma MP210 more closely resembles its more expensive brethren than last year's budget models (such as the Pixma MP160). The light-gray-and-black printer sits 17.7 inches wide, 13.9 inches deep, and 6.7 inches tall, and weighs a light 12.8 pounds. The scanner lid conceals an A4-size flatbed scanner, and the lid rears back a bit to accommodate thick originals (up to 1-inch thick). The MP210 offers a front-mounted USB port for connecting PictBridge devices (such as cameras and camera phones) for PC-free printing.

The control panel is basic, befitting the basic nature of this all-in-one. Instead of a graphical or text LCD, a single-digit LED shows the number of copies. You can also browse the maintenance options on the LED, though you'll need the decoder ring (i.e., the user guide) to translate the single-letter codes. One button lets you designate the type of paper you're copying on (plain letter, photo letter, or 4x6 photo), while another turns on the fit-to-page option for copying. The scan button launches the MP Navigator EX program on your PC. Finally, two start buttons (color and black), a stop button, and three lights to indicate a problem or low ink levels round out the control panel.

The paper handling is typical of Canons: The input paper support folds out from the rear and holds up to 100 sheets. A panel on the front folds down to serve as the output tray. Deep within the bowels of the output tray is a lever that changes the distance between the print head and the paper. For the majority of paper types, keep the lever to the left; for envelopes and T-shirt transfers, switch it to the right.

The Pixma MP210 is compatible with two sets of Canon inks. The standard capacity black costs $16 and the standard tricolor costs $20. The larger black tank costs $20 and the larger tricolor costs $25. Canon estimates that a black-only print costs about 4 cents per page while a full-color print costs about 12 cents per page. While these numbers seem high, they are in line with print costs from other budget all-in-ones.

Features
The Pixma MP210 prints, scans, and copies over a USB 2.0 connection. Canon offers drivers for both Windows and Mac PCs, so both camps should be satisfied.

When copying, you can make 1 to 9 copies, or 20 copies--that's right, it jumps from 9 to 20. With one touch, you can do a fit-to-page copy, too. You can initiate a scan via the scan button on the printer or by launching the MP Navigator EX software from your PC (the scan button will launch the same software). In MP Navigator EX, you can specify the type of original, change resolution, choose a format in which to save the scan (TIFF, JPEG, PDF, BMP), and edit the resulting scans. Within the custom scan tab, you can do advanced actions such as scanning originals larger than the platen using stitch assist and scan into a software program (such as Excel or Word). You can also attach scans to e-mails or save them to your PC. Though the printer lacks an auto duplexer, the driver will assist you with manual duplex tasks.

The USB port can be used to connect PictBridge-compliant cameras, camcorders, and camera phones, but not USB storage devices. We'd like to see Canon support the latter feature, as we find it useful.

It's easy to write off the lack of features by pointing out the Pixma MP210's tiny price tag, but looking at comparably priced offerings from the competition, the MP210 seems lackluster. The $80 Lexmark X3550 offers memory card slots as well as a PictBridge port, the ability to make up to 99 copies at once, and advanced copy features such as resizing, image repeat, and N-up copies. You can even get an optional wireless adapter for networked printing. Similarly, the $100 Dell Photo 926 offers memory card slots, the ability to print a scannable photo index, and e-fax, as well. Further investigation shows that Canon spent its money on print performance rather than features, though (see Performance section).

Performance
When it comes to task speeds, the Canon Pixma MP210 wasn't the fastest at any task (save photo printing), but it wasn't terribly slow, either. It printed text at a rate of 6.13 pages per minute, behind only the Dell Photo 926. It printed color graphics at a rate of 1.45 pages per minute, the slowest of the pack. It really shined, though, when printing 4x6 photos, scoring a fast 1.05 pages per minute; none of the others came close. Finally, the Canon was middle of the pack in scanning: 4.53 pages per minute for grayscale and 4.39 pages per minute with color.

Happily, what it lacked in speed, it made up for in quality. The black text print wasn't perfect, but it was close. Text was a dark, rich black, and the characters were cleanly and consistently formed. We saw a tiny bit of wicking, but we'll overlook that given the all-in-one's low price. The color graphics print was great, as well, with smooth color gradients, pleasing saturation, true color reproduction, and sharp details. The 4x6 photo print was sharp and detailed; the only issue we had was that the color could've been a bit warmer and we noticed some distracting graininess in color blocks.

The grayscale scan was sharp, clean, and detailed. It looked a tiny bit washed out, but nothing egregious. The color scan provided us with little to complain about: the colors were true and the details were sharp. The only problem it ran into was handling barcode patterns. Overall, we were very impressed with the quality of the Pixma MP210. It would've impressed us coming from an $80 printer, so it was even more impressive coming from an $80 all-in-one.

Most of the local news media have quoted Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi saying that Google is interested in setting up a base in Malaysia. Apparently, Google CEO Eric Schmidt met with our Prime Minister at the World Economic Forum in Davos and expressed interest in expanding its mighty reach to our humble shores. Malaysiakini (subscription required) further reports Abdullah stating that Malaysia's policies "are supportive of the company's (Google's) activities". While we don't know exactly what he meant by "Malaysia's policies", we could presume he meant our focus on ICT growth.

The question then becomes what sort of presence does Google intend to set up? In the South East Asia region, Google already has an ad office in Singapore, which, when opened, was supposed to represent the entire region including Malaysia. When opening its Singapore office, Google also stated that Singapore's environment is very conducive to business and that the government's support was vital.

Further south, Google has a larger presence in Australia where its Sydney offices houses Sales, Support, Systems Operations, Engineering and more. It also has a sales office in Melbourne. Google's Sydney office is its base for the Asia-Pacific region

DAVOS: Google Inc is interested to set up a base in Malaysia due to its huge ICT market, said Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The Prime Minister said the Government’s development plans for the ICT industry were also in line with the company’s expansion programme.

“I was told that Malaysians formed the highest group of Google users in South-East Asia,” he told Malaysian journalists after meeting the US giant’s CEO Eric Schmidt on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.

It is believed the world’s top Internet search engine company was eyeing Malaysia, India or Vietnam to set up its data centre facilities.

Abdullah said the company felt Malaysia was a good place for the base due to its strategic geographical location.

“They want to make their presence felt in Malaysia. It will be a big boost for our ICT industry,” he said.

Meanwhile, the shift of economic power from the West to the East will be one of the key topics of discussion at the World Economic Forum on East Asia in Kuala Lumpur on June 15 and 16.

This historic transformation must be handled with care, said Institute of Strategic and International Studies (Isis) Malaysia chairman and CEO Datuk Seri Mohamed Jawhar Hassan.

He said this would ensure it could become a productive, constructive transformation.

The meeting will bring together over 350 global and regional leaders in business, politics and intellectual thinkers to discuss opportunities in Asia and the potential risks."

FortiGuard Global Security Research Team discovered a new SymbianOS Worm actively spreading on various mobile phone networks. The worm, deemed SymbOS/Beselo.A!worm is able to run on several Symbian S60 enabled devices. These devices include, but may not be limited to, Nokia 6600, 6630, 6680, 7610, N70 and N72 phones.

After an installation phase, the worm engages in a propagation routine: phone numbers located in the contact list of the devices are harvested, and targeted by viral MMS carrying a SIS-packed (Symbian Installation Source) version of the worm. However, the SIS file does not bear a .sis file extension -- rather, it is disguised as a multimedia file with an evocative name: either Beauty.jpg, Sex.mp3 or Love.rm.

Users may know they have been infected if they see unrecognized sent messages in their MMS outboxes. FortiClient Mobile automatically detects and removes the Beselo worm. For users without FortiClient Mobile who believe they may be infected, please contact your mobile carrier or phone manufacturer for technical support in manually removing the virus.

Unlike Microsoft Windows, SymbianOS types files based on their contents and not their extensions, so it is worth noting that recipients of infected MMS would still be presented with an installation dialogue upon "clicking" on the attachment. Therefore, users could easily be deceived by the extension and unknowingly install the malicious piece of software.

In addition to harvesting the numbers stored in the phone address book as mentioned above, the Beselo worm sends itself to generated numbers as well. Interestingly, all those numbers are located in China and belong to the same mobile phone operator. Some of those numbers have been verified to belong to actual customers, rather than being premium service numbers. The whys and hows of such a routine are still under investigation.

Albeit the prevalence of this mobile malware incident is still low, the FortiGuard Global Security Research Team will continue to monitor the situation and update the description with new findings as needed.

Covering a wide range of distinct political, economic, and cultural trends, the term “globalization” has quickly become one of the most fashionable buzzwords of contemporary political and academic debate. In popular discourse, globalization often functions as little more than a synonym for one or more of the following phenomena: the pursuit of classical liberal (or “free market”) policies in the world economy (“economic liberalization”), the growing dominance of western (or even American) forms of political, economic, and cultural life (“westernization” or “Americanization”), the proliferation of new information technologies (the “Internet Revolution”), as well as the notion that humanity stands at the threshold of realizing one single unified community in which major sources of social conflict have vanished (“global integration”). Fortunately, recent social theory has formulated a more precise concept of globalization than those typically offered by pundits. Although sharp differences continue to separate participants in the ongoing debate, most contemporary social theorists endorse the view that globalization refers to fundamental changes in the spatial and temporal contours of social existence, according to which the significance of space or territory undergoes shifts in the face of a no less dramatic acceleration in the temporal structure of crucial forms of human activity. Geographical distance is typically measured in time. As the time necessary to connect distinct geographical locations is reduced, distance or space undergoes compression or “annihilation.” The human experience of space is intimately connected to the temporal structure of those activities by means of which we experience space. Changes in the temporality of human activity inevitably generate altered experiences of space or territory. Theorists of globalization disagree about the precise sources of recent shifts in the spatial and temporal contours of human life. Nonetheless, they generally agree that alterations in humanity's experiences of space and time are working to undermine the importance of local and even national boundaries in many arenas of human endeavor. Since globalization contains far-reaching implications for virtually every facet of human life, it necessarily suggests the need to rethink key questions of normative political theory.

Second, you need some income.

High yield investment programs (HYIP) return high yields on your investment but are also high risk and of limited duration. Get in early with a sum you can afford to loose and earn 20% daily for a few days or 2% daily for a few weeks/months. Most use 'e-currency' so you will need to open free accounts here... To help in deciding which programs to invest in and when to pull out I have kept the statistics of several current sites and also of sites that have closed. This is a very volatile market but can be very profitable and exciting.

Fast Profit Pro is a regular HYIP paying 20% daily for 6 days giving a net profit of 20% on maturity. Started on the 18thDec07 with a bang and still going strong. I'm in with a 'rolling buy' of $280 a day and 138 others deposited in the first hour with deposits up to $1,000 each! Deals in Liberty Reserve and SolidTrustPay e-money. Deposits $10 to $1,000 daily. Run by a good administrator, Exist1, - same as Business Profit Pro. A program with a good pedigree and attracting deposits of $15k a day and now making me a LOT of dollars a day!
Business Profit Pro is a profit share type of HYIP where the daily return is not fixed but varies as a percentage of the site's profits at the end of each day. This site is capped at 10% maximum return daily so should last a long time. Although the minimum stake is $1, in practice you need to start with about $100 and set the compounding level to your choice (I use 80% compounding). Returns about 1 to 2% per day at present and paying very promptly. This site uses Liberty Reserve e-money which has prooved clear of account blocking. (e-gold and e-bullion have had a spate of blocks recently). Use AutoCambist to move e-money, like e-gold to Liberty Reserve (LR in US$ or Euro) It is not a surf site but it has a few splash pages before you enter to earn revenue for the site.

Bux-To has been going for some time. Bookmark your log-in page and check your account daily for ads to click on, wait 30 seconds and earn a cent each time. Pays out to PayPal every $10 reached. You can upgrade your account by purchasing referrals. Wait for the ad to load and then watch the 30 second timer count down. If you open two ads at the same time you will be paid for none of them. Be fair to the advertisers. I have been paid by Bux-To.

MyLot is a great program for people who like to chat and earn a few dollars a day at the same time! The range of subjects is enormous and from all over the world. Upload pictures from your computer, list your passions and other features. But beware - this program can become infectious!! Payment is by PayPal so you will need to get a free PayPal account . If you can't get PayPal in your country then they will pay by e-Gold . I have been paid 10 times by MyLot.

BlueBayptr is a great PTS ( paid to search ), PTC ( paid to click ) PTJ (paid to join or sign up) and PTR ( paid to read ) program and, unlike some, has a low payout threshold of $2. This amount can be quickly reached by joining other programs from the Paid to Signup section, searching on links in your Inbox and clicking on banners in the Paid to Click area. I earn about $7 a month on my own searches. Payment is by PayPal so you will need to get a free PayPal account. If you don't do proper searches (see below) then you will not be sent many paid links.

Here is a tutorial on how to make a valid search . It will take longer than the 40 seconds shown to finish loading three pages but if the advertiser doesn't get paid, you wont get the links in the future.

You can buy almost anything at the best retail price and then get an added discount with Rpoints. Go to 'easy points' then 'recurring' where comparing prices with Kelkoo and others earns about 2p to 6p a click up to a max of about £1 a day. Rpoints are ultra-cautious about awarding points. They take days to check, then credit, your points and then a month or more to validate them before you can cash in. A good forum explains all this. But, once the ball is rolling and you're clicking every day, the cash rolls into PayPal at £5 minimum a time and in £sterling too so you can have dollar and sterling PayPal accounts to save on exchange rates.

Higher Payouts.

Normally I avoid very high payout programs where it sometimes takes a year to reach the minimum by which time the site may have vanished!

You WILL get paid with these programs; about $35 to $50 a month for just these programs and there are dozens more to choose from. Join up, add to your favourites or put an icon on your desktop by dragging on a links page for each program and visit the sites at intervals through the day and earn a bit each time. It soon adds up.

TIPS -

1. Right click on the log-in page for each program and save a shortcut link to your desktop, or, Add to your Favourites in a new folder, named Daily, for instance. Much easier to remember your daily earning sites by double clicking on the icons or links.

2. Write the address and log-in details for each site in the back of your diary. It is easy to forget your user name and password and you can continue to earn money on another pc when away from home.

3. Get into the habit of regular visits. Most sites will cancel your account if you don't make use of it and any money earned will be lost.

Third, make a web site of your own and get advertisers on it.

The final group of earning programs can be placed on your own web site.
First you need a website with content interesting enough to attract visitors.
Think of a subject that you know a lot about - you, your family, your job, your hobby - whatever it is, focus on it and provide detailed information; facts, figures. Try to make your web site the definitive source of information on your chosen subject.

With a web site designed you need a domain name and a hosting service. It is like an address to the house where your web site lives. I use Easily to buy my domain names and Cirtex to host them, both companies give excellent service and support.

Promote your website using the points earned from working the PTS, PTR and PTC you joined above in section two.

Once you have a web site with solid content you have a 'product' to sell. Many of the top programs will not accept you as an affiliate unless you have a web site of substance.

A good affiliate scheme is TradeDoubler . where you can join up for free to any of dozens of schemes under one 'roof' . All affiliate schemes have a minimum payout limit of around $50 so grouping schemes together as with TradeDoubler . [aimed at European web sites] and Commission Junction [aimed at North America but covering the world] means that you can get a cheque earlier.

Lots of companies would love you to join them as an affiliate and will pay you a commission when your visitors buy some of their products. It makes sense to join up with companies compatible with your site. Amazon sell a lot more than just books now and pay 5% to 7.5% commission by targeting specific books with a link from your site.

Bravenet has a lot of free goodies to add to your web site to attract more visitors and can help in setting up and hosting a web site with a free domain name. They also offer 50mb of free space on their servers to store your password protected back-up files and sensitive data. A well respected site of long standing..

Slide or Glide In ads are the latest medium and build income fast from your web site. I use GlideNetwork. The small ad windows load onto your page for 15 seconds and then automatically disappear. Rates vary but pay for CPC and CPM with a payout limit of >$5.00 to Paypal. Not affected by popup killers as yet so impressions are good.

Pop-under windows are better selling tools than banners and PopupTraffic.com will pay you up to $1.80/1000 impressions. This is the best you will get on the net and they pay monthly without fail. Popup killer browsers have changed the market so they only supply pop-unders but with anti-killer code that works with the major browsers. A busy site will still earn more than the $25 minimum for a cheque to be sent each month. They are now open to international affilliates and pop-under earnings.

Banner advertisements, love 'em or hate 'em, are part of the Net. Place these standard sized banners from AdBrite on your page and earn up to $1/1000 impressions depending on validity of visitor. Note that these are impressions or CPM rates, your visitor just has to see them, they do not have to click on the ads or buy anything. That is why the rates are lower than ' pay per click ' banners. AdBrite pay out monthly by cheque for earnings over $10 and pay me regularly.

Remember, these are all free to join; you have no outgoings other than your normal internet connection which you have anyway. To be perfectly frank, the only downside to these deals is that it takes up your time to organise the links, and your browser and/or web site will run a bit slower while advertising banners load.

Pornography or porn is, in its broadest state, the explicit representation of the human body or sexual activity with the goal of sexual arousal and/or sexual relief. It is similar to erotica, which is the use of sexually-arousing imagery for mainly artistic purposes. Over the past few decades, an immense industry for the production and consumption of pornography has grown, due to emergence of the VCR, the DVD, and the Internet, as well as the emergence of social attitudes more tolerant of sexual portrayals. Performers in pornography are referred to as pornographic actors (or actresses), or the more commonly known title, "Porn Star", and are generally seen as qualitatively different from their non-pornographic counterparts.

In general, "erotica" refers to portrayals of sexually arousing material that hold or aspire to artistic or historical merit, whereas "pornography" (which is frequently considered a pejorative term) connotes the more direct, blunt or excessive depiction of sexual acts, with little or no artistic value, intended for mere entertainment. The line between the two is often highly subjective. In practice, pornography can be defined merely as erotica that certain people perceive as "obscene." The definition of what one considers obscene can differ between persons, cultures and eras. This leaves legal actions by those who oppose pornography open to wide interpretation.

Pornography may use any of a variety of media—printed literature, photos, sculpture, drawing, painting, animation, sound recording, film, video, or video game.
